Professional networking is just one of the many benefits of attending the Conference on Volunteering and Service hosted by Points of Light — Learning from expert presenters, connecting with corporate engagement professionals, and taking time away from your day-to-day grind to reflect and invest in yourself are also valuable opportunities.

Didn’t budget to attend the conference this year? Then you should check out the Jill Friedman Fixler Professional Development Scholarship, sponsored in part by the family of Jill Friedman Fixler, who founded JFFixler Group, the company that has since become VQ Volunteer Strategies. To honor Jill’s legacy, this scholarship provides one professional the opportunity to attend the Points of Light conference to enhance practice, build new skills, and network. You can read more about Jill in Points of Light’s memorial tribute to her.

Points of Light is now accepting applications for a scholarship to attend the 2018 Conference on Volunteering and Service. The Jill Friedman Fixler Scholarship is open to volunteer managers or leaders and provides the recipient with registration and travel reimbursement (up to $1,500) to attend this year’s Conference on Volunteering and Service, June 18-20, in Atlanta.

Each year, the scholarship assists an individual in attending the Conference in order to learn from, share with and be inspired by leaders in the volunteer and service field. Applicants must inspire and engage volunteers, be committed to the field of volunteer engagement, and demonstrate financial need in attending the Conference on Volunteering and Service. VQ Volunteer Strategies’ President Beth Steinhorn will be presenting three sessions this year and will have the honor of presenting the award to the 2018 scholarship recipient. It’s going to be a great conference and we encourage you to attend!

Applications are due Friday, March 9, 2018. Learn more and apply today.
